(EPA photo)PHNOM PENH - Cambodia received some 3.7 million foreign tourists in the first nine months of the year, up about 5% compared to the same period last year, according to the government news agency AKP. “The increase in tourist numbers is also due to the availability of more direct flights to Cambodia,” added Vandy. The ministry is developing a new marketing strategy to ensure it meets its goal of drawing 7.5 million international tourists a year by 2020. It says this will generate $5 billion in economic revenue annually and create about one million jobs. The plan aims to draw 2 million Chinese tourists a year to Cambodia by 2020.
